Upshur County surveillance business working to keep schools safer

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. - An Upshur County business has been working with area schools to help response times in case of an incident at the school.

Sentry Surveillance LLC has been working with Taylor County schools to provide live surveillance to authorities. The company has installed camera systems throughout those schools to direct first responders how best to respond to any situation.

Owner Rob Lambert said every second counts when trying to avert disaster. "Every second we shave off adds up to minutes, and when you're talking about an average shooting being over with in 10 minutes, and we're wanting our officers in the schools in five, even better than that, we've got to shave off everything we can," said Lambert.

Lambert will work with law enforcement in Taylor County on a drill March 10 to demonstrate the system.
